Sports sponsorships are all the rage recently, with deal after deal being announced in the last couple of months. High-profile but very expensive, some wonder how brokers can cover the costs of associating with globally recognised teams. Now, Banc De Binary is showing us its method of monetizing a recent relationship with Liverpool FC by generating great buzz on social networks.

The broker launched a Twitter competition for LFC fans who were asked explain why they love the team. Banc De Binary’s team chose the top two tweets, and invited the winners, Sean Edgar and Brendan Hughes, to attend a training session at the famed Melwood Training Ground.

Upon returning, Edgar had this to say about his experience: “It was spectacular! I got autographs from every player there, and a photo with Daniel Sturridge and I shook Brendan Rodgers’ hand. It was stuff you dream about as a child meeting your Liverpool FC idols. I can't thank you guys enough for choosing me as one of the winners!” Hughes added: “Absolutely awesome day. Quite surreal meeting the players and watching them train up close. Thank you again.”

In addition to the two fans, Michael Berling, a Banc De Binary VIP trader from Denmark, was rewarded by the firm, and traveled to the UK with his wife. He had this to say: “The entire trip was very exclusive. We traveled first class to Liverpool and at Anfield, enjoyed a delightful meal and impeccable service in the Legends Hospitality area. We met the godlike football player Robbie Fowler who was in attendance, signing and taking pictures. Later, we witnessed a fantastic match. During the entire trip we were treated VIP style. Only one word that describes this: perfect.”

Oren Laurent, founder of Banc De Binary said: “Both LFC fans and Banc De Binary clients embody the spirit of the two brands and of the partnership they have formed. We are delighted to have the opportunity to reward such deserving fans and devoted customers with unique and unforgettable experiences.”

Football sponsorships will be one of the major topics of discussion during the upcoming Finance Magnates Summit in London. One of the panels at the summit- ‘Field Marketing – All about Sport Sponsorships in FX’- will even present the perspective of sportsmen themselves with the help of English Rugby Superstar Mike Tindall, brand ambassador for UFX.

For all those executives curious to know more about how their brand’s profile may be boosted by a prime sponsorship with a football club, don’t forget to attend and register for the Finance Magnates London Summit 2015.
