It’s been about a year since we saw the first major sponsorship deal in the binary options space. It was 24option that followed up on the steps of some Forex brokers and decided to establish a physical presence in what is normally considered a fully online business.

While the online aspect of it is the crucial part, when it comes to marketing we are starting to see some divergence from the methodology used to onboard clients, especially over the last 5 years since binary options have emerged as an industry and have been picking up.

The newest deal on the block comes from France, where Interactive Option has announced a partnership with French football team OGC Nice. The deal looks to be more substantial than some lower profile teams which binary brokers have signed in recent weeks.

The logo of Interactive Option has been stamped on the shirts of the OGC Nice players, and the company is getting the rights to do some online advertising and billboard space during home games of the team.

350,000 people call the city of Nice home

Targeting the French market with binary options has become somewhat difficult after the AMF cracked down on the product with an investigation which revealed that some spotters hired by the regulator only managed to recover their deposit from 2 out of 9 binary options brokers, 7 of which were CySEC regulated. In addition, the regulator is frequently updating its list of unauthorized binary options providers.

While challenges for the industry remain in place, there is still scope for growth and some brokers are looking to offline advertising to achieve their goals.

The city of Nice, located along the French riviera, is home to 350,000 people and the football team has been performing rather well in the country's most prestigious league, currently holding 8th place in Ligue 1.

The merits of sports sponsorships for binary and forex options brokers remain to be fully assessed. To learn more about the opportunities which a football sponsorship may or may not offer your brokerage, be sure to attend the Finance Magnates London Summit on the 2-3rd of November in the center of the City of London at "The Brewery".

The third panel of the second day of the event brings together outstanding sportsmen, agents and lawyers who will share insight into the most exciting deals recently, with a healthy dose of inside information and dressing-room tidbits.
