Avelacom continues to expand into the cryptocurrency industry by announcing that the Gemini Trust Company, LLC, a digital asset Exchange and custodian, has joined its list of crypto exchange technology vendors in Equinix’s NY5 Data Center .
Avelacom provides the financial services industry with high-performance global connectivity and IT infrastructure. Under the partnership, clients of both Gemini and Avelacom will benefit, as the deal will bring increased connectivity options to Gemini.
Specifically, clients of the infrastructure provider can now connect directly to the exchange’s infrastructure in order to access market data and order routing via FIX protocol. This includes clients who are also users of Gemini.
Cryptocurrency exchange Gemini is applying to become a broker-dealer under the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). As Finance Magnates reported, regulatory approval from FINRA would allow the exchange operator to start acting as a venue for trading in securities.
Under the agreement, Gemini clients will also have access to additional connectivity options through Avelacom’s network presence, which includes New York, Dublin, Frankfurt, Zurich, San Jose, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Seoul. The round-trip latency from Tokyo’s markets to Gemini is 136ms.
Commenting on the partnership, Aleksey Larichev, the Chief Executive Officer of Avelacom, said: “Gemini provides fundamental components to a robust, mature, and well-functioning cryptocurrency market including infrastructure for trading and custody.
“We believe this partnership will be beneficial for all involved as we match our tech capabilities to serve high-end trading firms across the US, Europe and Asia.”
Avelacom ventures further into crypto
Avelacom’s network spans across more than 20 international markets. The company offers a wide range of products and services designed specifically to support real-time applications and high-volume data streams.
Earlier this year, the company announced a similar partnership with Seed CX. As Finance Magnates reported, the main goal of the partnership is to provide Avalecom’s institutional investors with access to Seed CX’s real-time market data and order-routing solutions.
