Cryptocurrency exchange BingX has announced an expansion of its partnership with Chelsea Football Club. Starting from the 2024/25 Premier League season, BingX will transition from sleeve sponsor to official training wear partner for the men's team.
BingX Upgrades Chelsea Partnership, Becomes Official Training Wear Sponsor
The expanded partnership builds on BingX's initial collaboration with Chelsea earlier this year when it became the club's official sleeve partner. The current upgrade will increase BingX's visibility in sports arenas, aligning the crypto brand with a recognizable name in the world of football.
"We are excited to take our collaboration with Chelsea to the next level as the Official Training Wear Partner of the Men's team,” Vivien Lin, Chief Product Officer of BingX, commented on the partnership's evolution. “This partnership is a testament to our shared commitment to the unremitting pursuit of excellence and innovation."
To mark the occasion, BingX orchestrated an "airdrop" event at Chelsea's Stamford Bridge stadium, using drones to deliver the new training kits, referencing cryptocurrency culture where airdrops refer to the distribution of free tokens. The company's logo will now feature on the front of all training wear worn by players and coaching staff during practice sessions.
Additionally, BingX plans to launch a trading competition inspired by the drone event, featuring daily check-in activities and crypto "airdrops" for participants. Fans and traders will also have the chance to win tickets, merchandise, and VIP experiences.
For Chelsea, this is not their first collaboration with a cryptocurrency company. Two years ago, the popular English Premier League club signed a £20 million sponsorship deal with WhaleFin, which replaced Hyundai as the sleeve sponsor at the time.
Sixth Anniversary
The cryptocurrency exchange celebrated its sixth anniversary in May. Founded in 2018, BingX has grown rapidly to serve over 10 million users worldwide, offering a range of crypto products and services.
As part of the anniversary celebrations, the platform announced a development strategy titled "ExpansionX," through which it aims to introduce its services to new countries and expand its range of offered products. New additions will include USDC-margined futures, lending services, and wealth management.
As for Chelsea, since last year, the club has had an active multi-season agreement with online trading and investment services provider TMGM, the club's Official Regional Online Forex and Trading Partner in Asia Pacific.
Football has consistently been the most popular discipline among FX/CFD brokers looking to advertise through sports. Car racing takes second place, and interestingly, golf ranks third.
