Lykke, a Swiss fintech startup building a Blockchain marketplace, has released a beta version of its cryptocurrency wallet app for iOS mobile devices. Some features included in the wallet are: tracking asset prices in real time for FX, BTC and colored coins; checking balances, transaction history and blockchain details at a glance; depositing and withdrawing bitcoins via QR code with no fees; and remotely disabling access if the phone is lost or stolen.

Richard Olsen, founder and CEO of Lykke, commented: โ€œLykke Wallet, currently in beta, aims to prove the concepts and the technology behind the new global marketplace. Orders are submitted and matched in a unique way. The exchange does not take possession of the traded coins, but needs to be trusted to match trades correctly. Matched orders are settled on the Bitcoin blockchain in a format compatible with the Open Asset standard.โ€

If that name sounds familiar to you, you are not mistaken. It is the same Richard Olsen that co-founded FX broker OANDA. Beyond his role as the former CEO of OANDA, he is also chief executive of Olsen Ltd, an investment manager, and visiting professor at the Centre for Computational Finance and Economic Agents at the University of Essex.

Olsen founded Lykke in Zurich and received initial seed funding in 2015. In May 2016, Lykke closed a second seed round where the new shareholders included angel investors Marco Brockhaus and Carlo Koelzer, founding partner of 360T's Group Executive Board and member of Deutsche Bรถrse Group Management Committee.

Lykke says that the Android version of its wallet will be available in early Q3 2016.
