Bittylicious, a UK based bitcoin marketplace has announced that it has added the ability for users to purchase litecoins from their site. Unlike exchanges, Bittylicious operates a marketplace where digital currency sellers in the UK and EU can provide their inventory of bitcoins, feathercoins, and now litecoints for purchase. At the front end, buyers are provided a current price for either buying via a bank transfer, or Barlays Pingit mobile Payments service. After electing the purchase amount and entering a Bitcoin wallet, or one for litecoins or feathercoins, buyers enter their bank details. The digital currencies are then sent once the fiat cash transfer is received by Bittylicious. According to Bittylicious Founder, Marc Warne, the marketplace currently processes between 70-300 BTC a day in volume.
In terms of why they are adding litecoins, Warne answered to Digital Currency Magnates that the “Simply the interest in Litecoins and altcoins in general. Litecoins were one of the earliest altcoins and certainly the only early one to really make it. We've been supporting Feathercoins for a while and this proved that our setup can handle altcoins just fine.” Looking towards the future and evolving to a streaming quote based exchange, Warne mentioned that it’s a long term goal, but not one that would be taken for a while. He added that “Bittylicious is really designed to make coins easily available to users and we'll continue focusing on this for now.”
