The original wallet interface of Etherium, MEW (MyEtherWallet), announced on Tuesday that it has launched a wallet application for iOS devices - MEWconnect. Through the app, clients can store their Cryptocurrencies , with MEWconnect performing the same role as a hardware wallet.
MEWconnect is available for download via the Apple store now. For Android users, a beta version will be available later this month. However, customers can only access it through the Hockey app, the statement said.
According to the statement, the app is free to use, secure and open-source. Users can also access their wallet without the need to type their private key. Instead, the app uses a QR code scanner. The aim of the app is to give users the ability to interact with the Ethereum Blockchain from the comfort of their phone.

MEW Aims to Facilitate Global Adoption of Cryptocurrencies
MEW believes that one of the key barriers that are prohibiting the global adoption of cryptocurrencies is the limited ways that users can store their private keys. Specifically, the lack of free and secure ways.
This is what MEWconnect aims to solve. The app has a 2-factor transaction verification feature. This means that users will be prompted twice before they send their transaction on the Ethereum blockchain.
“With this application users can now easily interact directly with MEW via their mobile phones, while still remaining in full control of their private keys and funds,” Hemachandra added.
