Tango Partnership with Snapcard Lets You Collect Bitcoin for Rewards

Popular online rewards system Tango Card has partnered with Bitcoin wallet provider Snapcard, enabling users to be rewarded with bitcoin.

According to its website, Tango Card helps businesses build scalable and customized rewards programs. Supported programs include national and international retailer e-gift cards and non-profit donations.

Snapcard launched its wallet offering earlier this year to complement its merchant service, which aims to increase bitcoin adoption through tablet-based point-of-sale (POS) systems.

Any of Tango Card’s rewards programs can now issue bitcoins, thanks to its Reward as a Service API and Snapcard’s MassPay API. The latter lets Tango Card users select bitcoin as a desired reward on its e-reward platform, which arranges for the transfer of bitcoins to Snapcard’s wallet.

With the MassPay API, one can hold funds in USD, AUD, CAD or EUR, and have them converted to bitcoin for sending to others via SMS or e-mail. Recipients can then cash out the bitcoin for a 0.25% fee.

Nat Salvione, VP of Partnerships at Tango Card, commented:

"Bitcoin is a fantastic addition to our rewards catalog. It is truly frictionless, global, and most importantly, desired by the participants in our customers rewards programs."

For many, the feature will make it easy for shoppers to passively and easily acquire bitcoin.
