Financial technology and service provider Itiviti has formed a partnership with Gemini Trust Company, the cryptocurrency exchange and custodian founded by the Winklevoss twins. This collaboration will grant Gemini’s cryptocurrency holders access to trade with traditional institutional firms who are using the Itiviti’s NYFIX Network.
The partnership also ensures that asset managers currently utilizing Itiviti’s NYFIX network can leverage Gemini’s digital asset exchange and settlement ecosystem. Through this deal, the NYFIX Clients’ will get access to the same analytics, monitoring, and post-trade processing tool even on crypto space.
Gemini joins over 60 worldwide partners that are utilizing the NYFIX order routing network to serve Itiviti’s client base, which includes over 800 institutional firms.
While sharing more details about the collaboration, Drew Candres, head of technical exchange services at Gemini, stated:
“We are excited to extend access to our platform to the NYFIX community which consists of an extensive network of asset management firms globally. We are focused on creating technology and services that help financial firms interact with crypto in ways similar to traditional asset class exchanges. Integrating with NYFIX helps our mutual customers seamlessly access the Gemini platform in a safe and familiar way.”
Gemini expands reach with new integrations
NYFIX provides a connection between buy-side, sell-side, and trading venues across the industry’s order routing network, which is delivered as a managed service. Further, Itiviti’s product is a broker independent and vendor agnostic FIX community.
“Having Gemini connected is an exciting step for Itiviti. As the cryptocurrency space continues to grow, we look forward to providing connectivity for exchanges like Gemini and their counterparties,” said Jason Landauer, head of network sales at Itiviti.
The new service also combines Gemini’s expertise as a provider of crypto trading services with digital asset security, as users can instantly trade their crypto in custody without waiting for it to be transferred out of cold storage.
Gemini has been expanding its custodial services with the launch of a dedicated offshoot called Gemini Custody™. The qualified crypto custodian supports 18 Cryptocurrencies , including Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ether, Litecoin, Zcash, as well as 13 ERC-20 tokens. Most recently, it was integrated into charting and Trading Platform TradingView as the first-ever crypto exchange joining its trading board since 2018 when it signed Poloniex.
