The Dutch online brokerage, BUX announced on Monday that it has enabled cryptocurrency investment for the clients of its flagship platform, BUX Zero.
The company has already been offering crypto trading under a separate platform called BUX Crypto since April 2020. Now, both BUX Crypto and BUX Zero are offering digital currency trading.
BUX Zero will allow investors access to more than 20 cryptocurrency markets that include Bitcoin, Ethereum and Litecoin. And, the new service will be initially available only to clients in four countries: The Netherlands, Belgium, Spain and Ireland.
“We are proud to be able to offer a 360-degree investing solution for the modern investor. Cryptocurrencies are here to stay, and we believe that for investors to build balanced portfolios, we need to be able to offer a selection of assets that are valuable for all of our clients,” the BUX Chief Executive Officer, Yorick Naeff said in a statement.
“Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies offer innovative solutions that may prove to become a new way of hedging against a global economic crisis as well as disrupting old economic models that no longer serve the modern investor.”
Zero-Fee Crypto Trading
BUX Zero is known for offering zero-commission trading services with traditional financial instruments and has introduced popular services like fractional share trading. For crypto too, the platform will offer commission-free trading services.
Over the years, BUX has penetrated into several European countries, and it has been accelerated by an $80 million funding that it secured last year. Furthermore, the company made significant changes in its management last year: it onboarded a new CEO and CFO as well as hired industry veteran Salim Sebbata to take charge of its UK operations.
