Charlie Shrem and MtGox: The Two Worlds Collide on reddit

Charlie Shrem has surfaced on the Bitcoin reddit, commenting on MtGox's resignation from Bitcoin Foundation. Both now share the dubious honor as the most recent high profile figures to resign from the entity:

This is actually good news. I applaud Mark and the MtGox team for making the right decision as I had to do the same. Speaking very lengthy to Mark and the team over the weekend, I see good news on the horizon for people who have funds stuck in MtGox (I also have funds in MtGox stuck) - Charlie

In the ensuring thread, many members express their best wishes and even solidarity with Shrem. One goes so far to say that he was in JFK when the arrest happened, trying to buy a plane ticket with bitcoins of all things. The member describes that the event "definitely made things very real for me, realized very clearly that in this new economy and new world we are the enemy, because at the end of the day, this thing... We will see more arrests, more trumped up ***** charges, and more of our innovators vanish. Stay strong, there are a lot of people looking to support you."

Shrem was highly appreciative of the members' support. He steered clear of discussing his current legal situation in any detail, making only brief reference to it.

Others were less accommodating, chastising Shrem for his "great disservice to the community" and leaving behind a "dark stain on its reputation".

Other members interpret Shrem's post as a sign that he has some inside information on MtGox and urged him to share it with the Bitcoin world. Shrem denies such knowledge, instead acknowledging that he too has "a small amount of BTC" stuck on the Exchange which he'd love to get out.
