FTX, one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in the world, and West Realm Shires Services Inc., the firm behind FTX’s subsidiary in the United States, signed a partnership on Tuesday with Aaron Jones, NFL’s Green Bay Packers running back. According to the press release, Jones will become an ambassador of FTX, who purchased an equity stake in the Exchange .
“I plan to invest a portion of my future marketing earnings in cryptocurrency and other Blockchain -related assets through the FTX US exchange. Additionally, my brother and I are excited to become shareholders in FTX through Showtyme Ventures, LLC, my family’s investing vehicle dedicated to investing in legendary entrepreneurs who are unapologetically changing the world, putting as equal an emphasis on making an impact as they do shareholder returns. My brother and I are excited to have FTX represent our first venture investment,” Jones commented on the long-term deal.
As part of the partnership, the Green Bay Packers running back will receive his compensation in cryptos. Jones is the first player to score a record four touchdowns in route to a Green Bay Packers victory in Monday Night Football games in over 20 years, a landmark that was achieved during a game against the Detriot Lions on September 20.
Jones Charity to Accept Crypto Donations
“When we first met with Aaron, it was clear that he shared the same values FTX has been founded on, to leave a lasting positive impact on the world. FTX is thrilled to have Aaron join our team to assist us in bringing the world of crypto further into mainstream acceptance and adoption,” Brett Harrison, President of FTX US, stated on the announcement. Moreover, Jones’ charity, A&A All the Way, will integrate the FTX Pay platform into the site to receive donations in virtual currencies.
The partnership comes one week after FTX inked a deal with the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team.
