Dorian Nakamoto: "I'll Keep My Bitcoin Account for Many Many Years"

Dorian Nakamoto, the one claimed by Newsweek to have invented Bitcoin, has expressed his gratitude and support to the Bitcoin community in a well-circulated Youtube Video.

He starts off by expressing his thanks to the Bitcoin community for their support during this ordeal that "I'm still fighting". He goes on to reiterate his denial of being Satoshi Nakamoto , arguing that if he were, he certainly wouldn't use his real name.

Andreas Antonopoulos, Chief Security Officer at blockchain.info, is present beside Nakamoto but doesn't speak during the clip.

He mentions the "Bitcoin account" he received from Andreas and thanks all the contributors from around the world. He wants to "hug" the approximately 2000 contributors, and each one gives him a "tick" in his heart.

Thus far, over $23,000 worth of bitcoins have been raised for Nakamoto. He is one of the two users on bitcoinwallet.com who have crowdsourced funds, the other being Edward Snowden. From there, the total holdings are 0.018 BTC ($8.80) for each.

He ends off by stating that he'll be a Bitcoin user and join the community to help contribute for the benefit of humankind, especially poor people. He plans to keep his Bitcoin account "for many many years".

Apart from contributing to a charitable cause and raising the profile of Bitcoin, the community has transformed what could have been an ugly impression of Bitcoin to Nakamoto, and its potential fallout, into a positive one.
