Lykke, a Swiss fintech company building a global Blockchain -powered marketplace, today announced the addition of the Lykke Wallet for Android to its ecosystem. The wallet joins its iOS counterpart, which was released back in June.

Lykke offers a combination of a central price matching engine with Cryptocurrencies held in the customer’s wallets. Boasting of its safety, the firm states that unlike other well-known exchanges, if the Lykke exchange is hacked, clients can’t lose their money, because the exchange stores no customer assets.

Led by Richard Olsen, the co-founder of FX brokerage OANDA, the startup received initial seed funding in 2015 and in May 2016 Lykke closed a second seed round. The company now reveals that it also plans an ICO (Initial Coin Offering) in September.

“We are grateful to the first Lykke Wallet iOS app users for their valuable feedback that helps us to improve the trading platform,” says Olsen. “Android users will find all the popular features we have introduced to the Lykke Wallet: real-time quotes, charts, ease of use, and of course settlement in minutes on the Bitcoin blockchain, all with no commission fees, ever. Mobile users can even purchase Dollars, Euros, Swiss Francs, Pounds, and Yen today, and store them using cryptographic keys the same way they store Bitcoins.”

Lykke Wallet features include among other multisig, the option to remotely disabling access if the phone is lost or stolen, and an easy sign-up process: "Use your smartphone camera to take pictures of yourself and your documents, and you’ll be trading the same day."
