Rand Paul Speaks at NYC Bitcoin Event

Kentucky Republican Senator Rand Paul shared his outlook at a Bitcoin Fundraising Event at the historic Union League Club in New York.

Paul made headlines a couple of weeks ago when he became the first presidential candidate to accept bitcoin donations for his recently announced campaign.

The event was organized by Blockchain Technologies Corp, a Bitcoin startup incubator based out of the New York Bitcoin Center.

Paul, a staunch libertarian, admitted that he is no Bitcoin expert but emphasized that he is β€œpro-technology”. He mentioned he is in touch with issues facing youth in the country. The senator drew a round of applause when he called for an end to NSA surveillance, stating that he was unique from other Republican candidates in supporting all constitutional amendments, not just the second, which grants people the right to own and bear arms. He pledged to end alleged incidents such as the reported imprisonment of Kalief Browder for three years without charges.
