Cryptocurrency platform, Saitama recently confirmed a multi-year collaboration with Eagle FC, an MMA league that features some of the world’s most popular athletes.
As an exclusive crypto partner of Eagle FC, the logo of Saitama will appear on the shirts and shorts of fighters. Moreover, the company’s logo will become visible on the center ring. Saitama and Eagle FC are planning to explore opportunities to work together on different projects in the future.
Despite the reason that the financial details of the partnership were not disclosed, both companies acknowledged that the deal was in seven figures.
"Saitama's partnership with Eagle FC will introduce our cryptocurrency platform to an even larger more diverse audience," said Aaron Mohsini, the CMO of Saitama. "This exclusive partnership allows both companies a platform to grow together as MMA and cryptocurrencies gain popularity on a global scale."
Founded by Khabib Nurmagomedov, Eagle FC has gained significant popularity in the last few months. The league has attracted prominent global athletes and is now aiming to conduct new events in different parts of the world.
MMA Partnerships
The crypto community formed several partnerships with leading MMA athletes and organizations last year. The most notable one was UFC’s collaboration with Crypto.com. In July 2021, the digital asset trading platform announced a long-term partnership with UFC. According to CNBC, the deal was valued at around $175 million.
The CEO of Eagle FC, Rizvan Magomedov believes that the collaboration with Saitama will provide several unique opportunities. "Saitama Inu is the perfect partner for Eagle FC as we continue to grow globally and further benefit our athletes. Saitama's priorities are aligned with ours, and we believe this partnership will provide incredibly unique opportunities for several platforms in the years to come,” Magomedov said.
The first MMA match to feature the partnership will be between Kevin Lee and Diego Sanchez.
