Avelacom announced this Thursday that it had expanded its footprint in the American state of Virginia with a point-of-presence (PoP) in Ashburn in order to access the Amazon AWS North America region.
Following the establishment of the new PoP, Avelacom’s AWS Ashburn to AWS Dublin route, which is one of the most popular for cryptocurrency arbitrage, is now the fastest line available in the market, the statement from the company said, with a guaranteed round-trip latency of 65.3ms.
With the new connection to AWS Ashburn, the global connectivity and IT infrastructure provider can provide greater geographical coverage and, according to the company, increased predictable performance for the arbitrage strategies of its clients, which include crypto hedge funds, asset managers, broker-dealers and more.
AWS, which is Amazon Web Services, hosts some of the leading crypto exchanges. In order to keep up with growing demand, the connectivity provider has previously established low latency connections to AWS locations in cities around the world - Dublin, London, Frankfurt, Tokyo, and Hong Kong.
Crypto is a key focus for Avelacom in 2020
Commenting on the announcement, Aleksey Larichev, the Chief Executive Officer of Avelacom said in the statement: “Cryptocurrency trading is a very dynamic market, with high growth rates and is a key focus for the connectivity provider this year.
“A key driver of institutional adoption is IT infrastructure, which our solution portfolio and ready-to-go infrastructure provides. Our goal is to make markets more accessible and pave the way for greater number of market participants.”
Avelacom provides the financial services industry with high-performance global connectivity and IT infrastructure. Avelacom has established a number of PoPs to enhance connectivity for the crypto space.
As Finance Magnates reported, Gemini Trust Company, LLC, a digital asset Exchange and custodian, joined Avelacom’s list of crypto exchange technology vendors in Equinix’s NY5 Data Center .
