On Monday, Andrew Gibson, the Head of Institutional Sales at Alfa Capital Markets, announced that today was his last day working at the firm following a three-year tenure. According to an update published via LinkedIn, the departure reasons are reportedly tied to the current geopolitical situation.
“Today was my last day working with Alfa Capital Markets! It is very sad to see such an excellent and well-run company be decimated by the current geopolitical situation. I have made friends who will be in my heart forever. One door closes and another one opens! Watch this space!” he commented.
Gibson started at Alfa Capital Markets in March 2019 as Head of Institutional FX Sales. Previously, he worked as FX Consultant based in Amsterdam and was the owner of a company named SmallGlassBalls. He worked at BCS Financial Group for almost two years as Product Manager FX and Project Manager.
Moreover, he worked as a Foreign Exchange Consultant at Fastmach, Global Sales Director at TradAir, and as Sales Manager in FX Productos for ABN AMRO Clearing Bank.
Gibson began his career in the software sales industry back in 1998 for TraderTools in the software sales division. Afterwards, he joined Qanat Ltd in a similar role in 2000, and then he jumped to ForexManage Limited in 2002, where he spent over five years. The executive is currently based in Nicosia, Cyprus.
