BDSwiss, a recognized brand in the forex and contracts for differences (CFDs) brokerage space, has appointed Christos Fylaktou as the Regional Head of Business Development for its African operations. According to his Linkedin profile, Fylaktou is based in the broker's Cyprus office.

"I'm happy to share that I'm starting a new position as Regional Head of Business Development - Africa at BDSwiss!" Fylaktou wrote in a Linkedin post.

New Recruit of BDSwiss

Fylaktou has been in financial services since 2014. He entered the industry as an Account Manager at IronFX, another FX/CFDs broker. He joined the role at BDSwiss from HFM (previously known as HotForex), the unified brand name of the HF Markets Group. He joined the Cyprus offices of HF Markets.

"With broad experience in sales and business development, I have built a strong record of implementing effective strategies to drive revenue growth and strong interpersonal skills to cultivate close relationships with Business Partners," as described by Fylatou on Linkedin.

The appointment shows BDSwiss' commitment to growing its firm in the African markets. Several other retail brokers, big and small, are entering the African markets by obtaining licenses from jurisdictions like Kenya and South Africa.

HF Markets Staff Leaving for BDSwiss

BDSwiss onboarded Fylaktou weeks after hiring Hassan Ibrahim as the new Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Head of Business Development, who will play a key role in the broker's expansion in the region. Nicolas Morphitis, another former Regional Head of Business Development in the retail brokerage HF Markets, joined BDSwiss in March as global business development operations. BDSwiss onboarded these former HF Markets staff after Andreas Andreou, the Head of Business Development at HF Markets' subsidiary in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), joined BD Swiss as its new Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) in Cyprus earlier this year.

Furthermore, BDSwiss strengthened its team with the hiring of Mazen Salhab, who previously worked at Swissquote and MultiBank Group, as the broker's new Chief Market Strategist for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
