BMLL, an independent provider of historical Level 3 data and analytics for global equity and futures markets, has appointed Jenny Chen as Head of Sales, Americas. The announcement follows last week's hire of Rob Laible as Head of Americas, showing BMLL's focus on expansion in the United States.
Jenny Chen Joins BMLL as Sales Head
Chen has more than 20 years of market experience, having previously worked as an analyst in the Global Portfolio Trading department at UBS. From 2004, she was onboarded at Goldman Sachs as the Vice President of Global Portfolio Trading. After leaving the company, Chen spent eight years at Societe Generale Corporate and Investment Banking, first as the Head of Global Portfolio Sales Trading and then as the Managing Director and Head of Global Execution Services.
In September 2020, Chen joined big xyt, an independent provider of market data analytics, as Head of Sales, Americas, where she worked for two years. She joins BMLL to support the development of Level 3 Data and analytics due to the increasing clients' interest.
"I have been very impressed with BMLL's accelerated growth path, backed by major industry players to fuel both product and geographic expansion. The investment in their unique Level 3 Data and analytics offering as well as the strength of its technology and data science capabilities compelled me to join the team. I look forward to working with the BMLL team to help our growing customer base fully engage with the Level 3 order book data," Chen commented.

BMLL Aims at US Expansion
The decision to hire Laible as the new Head of Americas and Chen as the Head of Sales is a strategic move to support BMLL's geographic expansion plans. Laible, who will report directly to BMLL's CEO Paul Humprey, is responsible for the company's strategic priorities in the Americas and building a team in the US to meet the growing demand from local customers.
"As we grow our US operations, we are very excited to work with Jenny to help our customers gain insights into how markets truly behave and further democratize Level 3 quant analytics for the whole capital markets community," Lailble commented.
According to the latest news, BMLL plans to open a new office in New York along with the geographic expansion.
Focus on Growth
The company reported closing its Series B funding round in October, raising $26 million. The round was led by Nasdaq Ventures, FactSet and IQ Capital's Growth Fund.
"Over the last two years, we have significantly grown the business. We have added Tier 1 clients, including Investment Banks, Exchanges, Buy-Side firms, Academics and Regulators and expanded into the futures market," Humphrey said.
Earlier, the company announced its partnership with Aquis Exchange, the operator of Pan-European equity trading exchanges.
