Capital.com, a London-headquartered global broker, has appointed IG Group’s Niamh Byrne as its Head of UK and Ireland. Byrne joined the company after spending 14 years at IG Group. Until the new appointment, she was the Head of UK B2B2C Sales at London-based IG Group.
Capital.com announced Byrne’s appointment on Wednesday in a statement shared with Finance Magnates. The broker said Byrne will help to drive its UK business as well as provide support for the execution of its new deal with forex and CFDs broker, OvalX.
“Niamh will be responsible for building strong client relationships and driving overall strategy to ensure optimal client satisfaction and growth,” Capital.com noted.

Byrne to Support Capital.com's New Deal with OvalX
Finance Magnates reports that the brokerage is taking steps to purchase the client assets of OvalX. Under the deal, OvalX in a joint statement with Capital.com says it will offer some of its existing retail and professional clients the opportunity to transfer their accounts to the company so that they can continue trading without disruption.
“I am thrilled to be joining a great team at Capital.com. The UK and EU are strategically important markets for Capital.com. With this agreement [with OvalX], we will be in a good position to further broaden our portfolio of products and accelerate our development,” Byrne said.
Apart from IG Group, Byrne worked for RBC Dexia Investor Services between October 2008 and March 2009. The company offers custody, fund and investment administration, among other financial services. Furthermore, between March 2007 and September 2008, Byrne served as the Client Services Professional at Davy, Ireland's largest stockbroker, wealth manager and asset manager.
Capital.com Taps IG Group Executives
In recent months, Capital.com has tapped other IG Group executives to strengthen its executive team. In December, the broker hired IG Group’s longtime executive, Greg Adams, as its Head of Risk. Furthermore, a month earlier the broker onboarded Alessandro Capuano, IG Group's Head of Exchange Traded Product, to become the new Head of Europe at Capital.com. Capuano once spent almost 13 years at IG Group.
