Century Financial, a financial services provider headquartered in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, has promoted Mahmoud Elaref from Senior Financial Analyst to Vice President of Private Wealth. The promotion comes over five years after Elaref joined the privately-owned firm.
The financial analyst, who has spent about 16 years working in roles based in Cairo, Egypt and in Dubai, announced his promotion on Monday on LinkedIn.
Before joining Century Financial, Elaref was a Relationship Manager at Hantec Markets. He spent almost two years in the role, driving new sales for the online forex and CFD trading firm.

Between September 2011 and October 2015, Elaref served as the Executive Director and Board Member for a Cairo-based organic acid company, contributing to its day-to-day running with particular emphasis on sales and business development.

Furthermore, he served as a Sales Director for UTEC Egypt for five years between 2006 and 2011. During this time, he helped to identify, develop and direct the implementation of the firm’s business strategy. Additionally, he contributed to cultivating the company’s reputation in the market and with customers.
Executive Appointments in Other Regions
Beyond the UAE, executives in other regions have announced new roles this week. For instance, London-based ActivTrades has promoted Vikesh Purohit to Head of the UK and DACH markets.
Also, the Australian Securities Exchange Limited (ASX) has selected Daniel Moran, who has been serving as the exchange’s Chief Commercial Officer since October 2022, as its Chief Compliance Officer. The permanent capacity is to become effective on 1 January 2023.
Furthermore, Paula Fry, a financial markets industry veteran with over three decades of experience, on Monday announced her elevation to the position of Global Head of Fixed Income and FX Trading Liquidity at Bloomberg L.P. Fry previously worked for top firms such as Goldman Sachs and Citi.
