Equiti Group has named Karen Tatyan as Head of Database, according to an announcement he made on LinkedIn today (Tuesday). Tatyan joined the group as a warehouse/business intelligence/database engineer more than six years ago.

Other Roles at Equiti

Tatyan also served in other roles at Equiti, including Database Team Lead and Data Architect. According to his profile, he has worked for other firms, such as Digitain and Synergy International Systems.

Early this year, Equiti boosted its executive team by onboarding Sophie Squillacioti as the Director of Sales for the Asia-Pacific region. Squillacioti, who has two decades of experience, moved to the firm’s Dubai offices.

Her experience also involves running Asian operations for brokers. Before moving to Equiti, she served as Head of Asia at INFINOX Global from 2022 to 2023 and worked as the Head of Asia at the Shanghai offices of BDSwiss.

Meanwhile, Equiti Capital UK boosted its trading revenue and operating profit for 2023, according to the company’s recent report. The FCA-regulated arm of Equiti Group’s total comprehensive income was more than 30% lower compared to the prior year.

Trading revenue for the period rose more than $31 million, expanding from $30.5 million posted the preceding year. This pushed the company to achieve an operational profit of $1.9 million, which jumped from that of 2022. However, during the period, the total assets held by the firm dropped from $203.5 million to $161.4 million.

Positive Financial Performance

According to the company, the positive results were achieved partly due to an investment in a digital marketing team, which boosted the group's growth. This increased customer numbers and transaction volumes, resulting in a 34% growth in commission revenue.

Equiti also won a mini-football tournament involving the top brands in the forex and CFD sector last month. After hours of highly competitive play, Equiti defeated Match Prime to clinch the trophy.
