Two former employees of British retail broker, OvalX (formerly ETX Capital), Nicole Simpson and Tony Adams, have announced new roles at BidX Markets and Alvar Financial Services Limited. A third employee, Ella Hacer Gumus, who worked for Oval Money, the fintech company that operates investing app Oval and brokerage OvalX, is joining Trade Nation.

The former employees disclosed their new roles on LinkedIn. The new roles come as OvalX confirmed that it would close down on March 17, 2023, after selling its client book to rival Capital.com.

Finance Magnates reported last week that Mark Foulds, who has been serving as the Head of Spread betting Sales for over two decades at OvalX has parted ways with the company. He joined Alvar Financial as the Co-Head of High Net Worth Trading.

Ex OvalX Employees Take On New Roles

Simpson, who was previously a Senior Client Support Associate at OvalX, joined BidX Markets as a Senior Operations Executive. She joins the London-based multi-asset liquidity solutions provider after more than a year at OvalX.

Simpson brings over five years of experience to the new role. She started out her financial services industry experience in January 2017 at Vanarama where she spent a little over six years and served as a Credit Specialist for nearly four years.

Before BidX, she worked as a part-time Client Success Executive at Zeigo, an organization that accelerates decarbonization for companies of all sizes.

For his part, Tony Adams worked with OvalX’s multi-asset sales and trading team, targeting high net worth individuals and professionals. He fulfilled the role for three and a half years and now joins Alvar Financial as a Senior Sales Trader.

Adams brings nearly 40 decades of trading industry experience to his new role at OvalX. Over the years, he has served in various capacities, such as Business Development Consultant at King Shaxson Limited, Head of Execution and Sales at Sunrise Brokers LLP and a Sterling Desk Trader at Citibank NA.

On the other hand, Gumus joins Trade Nation, a forex and CFDs trading firm, as an Affiliate Marketing Manager after only four months as Senior Affiliate Marketing Manager at Oval Money. She joined Oval Money from brokerage OANDA where she served in the same capacity for nearly two years.

Gumus, who brings over 15 years of marketing experience to his new role at Trade Nation, has previously worked as an Affiliate Marketing Manager and Executive at GAIN Capital, Core Spreads, Ancil Group and GVC Group, among other firms.
