Stavros Anastasiou, the Group Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) at Finalto, has been selected as the new Chief Executive Officer for the fintech company’s retail brokerage unit, Markets.com. However, the senior executive's LinkedIn profile shows he secured the appointment earlier in May.
Markets.com Gets New CEO
Anastasiou takes up the new task after serving in the former role for over five years, starting in January 2018. He previously worked for Markets.com when he served as the Chief Compliance Officer of Safecap Investments Limited between 2016 and 2018. Safecap, which is regulated by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission, is the operator of Markets.com.
Anastasiou brings about 15 years of compliance management experience from the retail forex industry to the new executive position. Before joining Finalto, he worked for the retail brokerage FxPro Group for over six years, serving in the last year as the Chief Compliance Officer.
Outside the forex industry, Anastasiou worked in the professional services industry between 2005 and 2009 in the employment of rival accounting firms PricewaterhouseCoopers and Deloitte. While he was a Senior Advisor on Mergers and Acquisitions at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Greece, he earlier served as an Audit Senior at Deloitte.
Meanwhile, Finalto has made several executive appointments in recent months, including Kenneth Lim as the Head of Liquidity in Asia, Paul Groves as the UK B2B CEO, Macro Maggioni as the Sales Director, and Klelia Orphanidou as the B2B Head of Regulatory Compliance.
