GCEX Group, a digital asset brokerage, has bolstered its UK operations with the addition of two senior professionals. The company has been strengthened with a new Compliance Officer and Financial Controller. The Compliance Officer will support the further development of the FCA-regulated entity, leveraging his five years of experience working with the regulator.
GCEX's Two Senior Hires
Ignacio Corral has joined GCEX as its new UK Compliance Officer. Corral is a qualified lawyer and was previously Legal & Compliance Manager at Rede Partners and Senior Compliance Manager at easyMoney. He spent over five years as a Senior Associate at the UK's Financial Conduct Authority.
"I wanted to work in a growing company where I can make a big impact," said Corral. "There’s a lot of talent here and it’s great to be joining the GCEX team.”
It's worth emphasizing that Corral knows the UK's compliance market inside out, as he was associated with the FCA for almost 6 years, parting ways with it in November 2021. Moreover, he is another representative from the public sector involved in regulations who has tied his future to private cryptocurrency companies.
Additionally, Helen Man has come on board as GCEX's Financial Controller. Man is a chartered accountant with experience at financial institutions like Stifel, Zodia Custody, and TP ICAP. She will manage finances across GCEX's UK, Denmark, and Dubai entities.
“I was really keen to work in a fast-growth, ambitious firm, building on my experience from the investment banking sector and the crypto world,” added Man. “I feel strongly that there’s a great future for digital assets so GCEX ticked so many boxes for me.”
The company recently presented a new platform dubbed XplorSpot Lite, which allows crypto-fiat conversions on any device through an intuitive interface.
UK Digital Asset Brokerage GCEX Expands Operations
The new hires come during a growth period for GCEX in staff and operations. The Founder and CEO, Lars Holst, said the company emphasizes finding the right talent and is committed to expanding its UK business.
“Ignacio’s appointment reinforces our commitment to growing our business in the UK. As we continue our expansion across all regions, the complexity of our financial operations has increased,” said Holst. “Helen’s appointment, working across all entities, demonstrates further investment across our Group.”
GCEX Group provides institutional and professional investors access to digital asset and foreign exchange trading and technology solutions for brokers and traders. The company has offices globally and holds licenses from regulators in the UK, Denmark, and Dubai.
Two weeks ago, it announced a strategic partnership with the electronic trading firm Crossover Markets, which is aimed at opening new opportunities in the digital assets sector.
