Goldman Sachs Talent Storm as Executives Head to Competitors
The
landscape of Asia equities is witnessing significant changes as a slew of key
personnel has departed from Goldman Sachs Group Inc. The exits have been noticed in
both Tokyo and Hong Kong, as managing directors transitioned to rival banks and
hedge funds.
Fredrik
Grunberger, a Managing Director in Hong Kong, along with Tomiyuki Oji and David
Williams, Managing Directors in Tokyo, have all recently left the company, according
to sources quoted by Bloomberg. Oji is reportedly set to join Nomura
Holdings Inc.
Meanwhile,
Alexis Tsang relocated to Millennium Capital Management. As well as that, Jig Patel, the Chief
Operating Officer of Asia Pacific prime services, will be departing Goldman Sachs
after 28 years to move to a senior regional role at Izzy Englander's $58
billion hedge fund firm.

ClearBank Onboards New Chief Product Officer
London-based Clearbank announced the appointment of Spiros Theodossiou as Chief Product Officer (CPO). He brings over 20 years of experience to the role.
He joined ClearBank from DEXT, where he was also the CPO. Before that, he was the SVP of Product Management at WorldPay and was employed by PayPal, Skrill, and Vouchercodes.com.
"The growth opportunities, both in the UK and as ClearBank expands internationally, are phenomenal and I look forward to being a part of the bank’s journey, working closely with our clients to understand their needs, drive product innovation and help take our vision to new markets," Theodossiou mentioned.
Ex OvalX Seniors Move to BidX Markets, Trade Nation and Alvar
Two former employees of OvalX, Nicole Simpson and Tony Adams,
have announced new roles at BidX Markets and Alvar Financial Services Limited.
A third employee, Ella Hacer Gumus, who worked for Oval Money, the fintech
company that operates investing app Oval and brokerage OvalX, is joining Trade
Nation.
The former employees disclosed
their new roles on LinkedIn. The new roles come as OvalX confirmed that it would close down on March 17, 2023, after selling its client book to rival
Capital.com.

Maoz Tenenbaum Leaves Leverate, Starts Consultation Business
Leverate's Vice President of Global Sales for the last four years, Maoz Tenenbaum left the company earlier this month. He will leverage his expertise in the industry to start an independent consulting business for the trading space. His focus will be to help brokers establish their businesses and connect them with technology providers and assist in marketing efforts.
Tenenbaum told Finance Magnates: "Having accumulated over eight years of experience as a sales professional in the fintech industry, I possess a comprehensive understanding of the entire ecosystem. This includes trading platforms, CRM, affiliates, and payment solutions. My core focus is centered on facilitating the growth of fintech companies by leveraging my extensive network, knowledge, and sales expertise to help them form strategic alliances and acquire new clientele."
ATFX Hires Swissquote’s Gonzalo Canete as Global Chief Market Strategist
ATFX has appointed Gonzalo Canete as its Global Chief Market Strategist. Canete joins ATFX after almost 10
years at Swissquote and brings nearly two decades of experience to the new role.
Canete announced his new
appointment through LinkedIn on Monday. Before his departure from Swissquote, Canete
served for over five years as the Head of Desk and Associate Director. In addition, he served the Switzerland-based forex and CFDs brokerage firm as the Senior Business
Manager and Head of Education.

N26 announced the appointment of

Spotex Onboards Former Coinbase Executive as APAC Sales Head
Spotex LLC announced the appointment of Ivan Wong as the Managing Director for APAC Head of Sales and Distribution. He will be based in Singapore and will report directly to Spotex's CEO, John Miesner.
Wong brings more than a decade of experience to his new role at Spotex. He will join the Singapore offices of the US-headquartered technology provider from Coinbase, a popular American crypto exchange, where he was the Head of APAC account management. There, he implemented and managed cross-selling and upselling campaigns of Coinbase product suites as well as oversaw client servicing, client onboarding, and marketing.

NatWest Group's Adam Wheelwright Starts CTO Role at IG Group
Adam Wheelwright resumed his new role as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at IG Group on Monday. Finance Magnates reported in early April that Wheelwright was appointed as the CTO by the London-based spread betting and CFD trading provider "to drive its innovation agenda."
Wheelwright brings nearly three decades of financial industry experience to the role. Apart from the NatWest Group, the executive has previously worked for the UK Health Security Agency, Nomura, Dresdner Kleinwort, and UBS.
Ex-Deutsche Bank Dealmaker
Joins JPMorgan
JPMorgan
has hired Khaled Fathallah, a veteran dealmaker from Deutsche Bank, to head up
its coverage of mining companies and metals in Europe. Fathallah brings over 13
years of experience at Deutsche Bank, where he was most recently named head of
the newly-established energy transition group.
In his new
role at JPMorgan, Fathallah will serve as Head of Metals and Mining for the
EMEA region and report to James Janoskey, Co-Head of the bank's energy group.
This move reflects JPMorgan's commitment to expanding its expertise in the
natural resources sector.
Elie Aoun, CFI Cyprus’ CEO, Joins CySEC’s ICF Admin Committee
Elie Aoun, a long-time CEO of Credit Financier Invest (CFI) in Cyprus, has joined the
Administrative Committee of the Cyprus Investor Compensation Fund. He announced his new role on Friday through LinkedIn.
Aoun has been the CEO of the online trading provider for over a decade
now. The company is a subsidiary of the CFI Group, a holding company that
provides a suite of trading platforms to individual and institutional
investors.
