IS Prime, a brokerage services provider, has hired Sandeep Nanuwan from NatWest into its agency execution team. He is to “focus on institutional sales to banks, hedge funds and asset managers,” IS Prime announced in a press statement shared with Finance Magnates.

Nanuwan joins IS Prime, which is a subsidiary of the ISAM Capital Markets Group, after working for over three years at the forex prime brokerage client service team of NatWest Markets in London. In the new role, he will report to Barry Flanigan, IS Prime’s Head of Liquidity and Distribution.

Over the last nine years, Nanuwan has worked for two top financial organizations, Morgan Stanley and Deutsche Bank in derivatives trade services roles, majorly based in London but with stints in Hong Kong and India.

Commenting on Nanuwan’s appointment, Flanigan noted that the firm was excited at onboarding someone that shares its “values of integrity, hard work and professionalism.”

“Sandeep brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this department, and with our success over the past 12 months, we wanted to maintain momentum by expanding the team,” he further explained.

Explaining why he decided to join IS Prime, Nanuwan noted that the brokerage "ticks all the boxes for my next career move.”

“I have worked with IS Prime for a number of years and have always been impressed by their professionalism and transparency. I have also followed the fast growth of the business and could see how I could add value and drive further growth by leveraging my network,” Nanuwan explained.

Nanuwan’s Career Brief

Before joining NatWest Markets in August 2019, Nanuwan spent one year and eight months at Morgan Stanley in London working as an associate, first in credit derivatives trade services and later in interest rate derivatives trade services.

Nanuwan joined Morgan Stanley after spending almost six years at Deutsche Bank working across various roles. He joined the German multinational investment bank in London in January 2012 as a Prime Brokerage Payments Control Analyst. He would later spend two months in India in late 2014 working in stock loan exposure management for the Bank before returning to London to continue in his role as a Securities Lending Exposure Management Senior Analyst.

Numan climbed the corporate ladder at Deutsche Bank, joining the Convertible Bonds Trading and Sales Support team in September 2015. He later became an Associate at the Global Equity Derivatives Trade Services team in January 2017 and continued in the role until August of the same year when he joined Morgan Stanley.
