James Donovan Joins Saxo Markets as Global Head of Preferred Broker

Saxo Markets, the subsidiary of the leading fintech specialist Saxo, has appointed James Donovan as a new Global Head of Preferred Broker with immediate effect. According to Wednesday's press release, Donovan will be responsible for driving the company's Preferred Broker campaign.

Donovan will be responsible for developing the Preferred Broker program and realizing its potential in the face of high demand for the service. He will be stationed in London and report directly to Adam Seagrave, the Global Head of Sales and Trading at Saxo Markets.

"I am thrilled to join Saxo and look forward to helping shape this unique program. Saxo is an organization with ambitious plans for both innovation and scale. I am excited to build further on the company's excellent reputation as a leader in both investment and trading in a highly competitive environment," Donovan commented.

Before joining the Saxo subsidiary, he was Director of Equity Sales Trader at Cantor Fitzgerald. Donovan began his financial career as an APAC Equities Sales Trader at the London branch of Merrill Lynch in 1997, where he worked for seven years. His longest employer was UBS, where he spent almost 11 years, of which in the last two he was appointed as the Executive Director of APAC Derivative Sales. Additionally, he worked for Citi in Hong Kong for four years as the Director of Derivatives and Equities.

Preferred Broker Program by Saxo Markets

Preferred Broker is Saxo's program to provide a unique compliance-approved brokerage service. It allows partner clients to enroll employees directly onto the platform, where Saxo reports transactions to the company's compliance division. It enables proper monitoring of individual employees' dealing activity.

The latest announcement follows recent news that Saxo UK has a group of industry professionals. The list includes Simon Camilleri as the Chief Operating Officer, Nicholas Wilcock, and Michael Ridley, who joined the company's board as Non-Executive Directors and Joanna Moberly as the Head of Legal and Company Secretary.

Meanwhile, Christine Kiener has joined Saxo Markets as the new Head of Institutional Sales. Previously, she served as the EMEA Head of Enterprise Data Specialist Sales at Bloomberg.
