Finance Magnates has learned that Jose Ruiz has been appointed to Global Head of Trading at the crypto platform, Vauld. According to an update on LinkedIn, he started his new working relationship with the firm this week.
Prior to joining Vauld, Ruiz worked for ED&F and Capital Markets as the Head of FX North America for over one and a half years. As Head of Emerging Markets Trading, he was a freelancer for nearly nine months between 2020 and 2021.
Moreover, for over nine years, Ruiz was employed by Credit Agricole CIB as its Head of Emerging Markets Trading Americas. Between 2006 and 2010, he also worked as a Senior Trader for the Bank of Ireland Global Markets. In addition, he completed a two-year tenure at American Express as the Head of EM Trading Americas between 2004 and 2006.
According to his educational background, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Fine and Studio Arts from Dartmouth College and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management. He also holds Series 7, 63 and 24 certifications from FINRA.

In recent appointments in the financial industry, Banco Santander's Board announced that it has appointed Héctor Blas Grisi Checa as the next Group Chief Executive Officer of Banco Santander, and he will be positioned as a Group Director.
The appointment, which is subject to customary approvals, will take effect from 1 January 2023. In the new position, he will report to the Board. Grisi is succeeding José Antonio Álvarez, who has been an integral part of the bank since 2002. He was appointed Chief Financial Officer in 2004 and then became the Chief Executive Officer in January 2015.
