One of the heavyweight foreign Exchange and CFD trading leaders in the Middle East, ADS Securities, has hired a very experienced industry veteran to head its office in Hong Kong. The company on-boarded Francis Lee, appointing him as Managing Director of ADS Securities Hong Kong.
The company started its push into the region in December 2013 when it hired former GFT executive Desmond Yeo.
Francis Lee has an extensive background in foreign exchange. Before joining the ranks of ADS Securities, Mr Lee held the position of Managing Director at FXCM APAC.
According to his LinkedIn profile, he started working at FXCM as a dealer and climbed his way up through the ranks of the brokerage, leading a team of 120 people after building the companyโs office in Hong Kong from the ground up. After incurring massive losses at the beginning of this year after the Swiss National Bank induced FX Volatility , FXCM was forced to sell its Hong Kong unit to Japanese Rakuten Securities.
After leaving FXCM, Mr Lee held another high-profile position in the industry, serving as Regional Head of the business of Saxo Bank. Mr Lee shares publicly on his LinkedIn profile that he helped build up the operations of the Danish brokerage in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing.
He parted with Saxo Bank in August last year and shares on his professional social network profile that he lead the Danish powerhouse to having close to โฌ300 million assets under management (AUM).
MR Lee will be reporting directly to the CEO of ADS Securities, Philippe Ghanem.
