Alpha FX Group plc (AIM: AFX), announced that it has nominated Nicholas Maton as its Managing Director of Luxembourg, effective January 2022.
In an official press release shared with Finance Magnates, Nicholas Maton, a veteran executive in the Financial Industry with three decades of experience, has been named by Alpha FX Group plc, a global provider of high-tech, high-touch financial solutions, transforming banking services for corporates and institutions operating internationally, as its Managing Director of the new office in Luxembourg.
Maton brings more than thirty years of experience from the Financial Services Industry. In particular, he has extensive experience in developing businesses in the Luxembourg markets. This market is of exceptional strategic importance for the Group. Also, he brings a deep understanding of the alternative investment sector with his traditional banking experience.
At first, Maton is expected to concentrate on building and advancing commercial partnerships across Luxembourg’s alternative investment sector in order to provide alternative banking solutions. Additionally, he will provide support for the company’s application with Luxembourg's financial regulator, the CSSF ('Commision de Surveillance du Secteur Financier').
Maton’s Employment Background
Prior to the announcement, Maton spent the last sixteen months with Intertrust Group. Having left at the end of last year, he took on the responsibilities of Managing Director and the Luxembourg Country Head.
Before that, he simultaneously was a Partner at ONE group solutions and an Independent Consultant for a short period in 2020.
At an earlier time, he spent roughly five years with HSBC. Having joined the bank in May 2015 as a Director of Product Solutions Europe, he quickly scaled the executive ladder and ended up as the Managing Director of HSBC Securities Services Luxembourg.
The bulk of his career was with JP Morgan for just over nine years. As an Executive Director of Product Solutions in Luxembourg, he successfully completed all the necessary tasks of the role.
At PwC UK, he completed a stint of sixteen months in London as a Senoir Manager. Further, his earliest known role was Head of Transitions and Securities Audit at BNP Paribas which began at the run of the century.

In other related news, Alpha FX Group recently announced the launch of an alternative banking platform at the end of September 2021. The platform will provide services to the alternative investment sector and to existing Alpha FX clients. Further, the company enhanced its platform by making use of client feedback. Alpha FX’s offerings include FX Risk Management and alternative banking solutions to corporates and institutions internationally. Furthermore, an earlier report showed that the company revenue escalated 90 percent Y-o-Y in the first half of 2021, while profits rocketed by 224 percent, touching £15.3 million.
