Alpha FX Group plc (LON:AFX) announced on Wednesday the appointment of Vijay Thakrar to the company’s board as an Independent Non-Executive Director.
Thakrar will be involved in three committees of the group, and his appointment has become immediate. He will be the chairperson of the Audit Committee and will be a member of the Remuneration and Nominations Committees as well.
The other two members of all these committees are Clive Kahn and Lisa Gordon, while only the nominations committee has CEO Morgan Tillbrook as the fourth member.
An Accounting Expert
Thakrar is a chartered accountant and has a diverse set of industry experience. He was involved with several public companies in roles related to strategy, commerce and governance.
Along with his seat at Alpha FX's board, he will be the Non-Executive Director at four other companies: Treatt plc, The Alumasc Group plc, Sanderson Design Group plc and RSM UK.
He was previously a partner at Ernst & Young and Deloitte, two of the ‘big four’ accounting firms. At Deloitte, he was chairing the company’s midcap listings. In addition, he sat on the boards of other British companies, including The Quoted Companies Alliance and Quorn Foods.
“We undertook a comprehensive search when looking for our next independent non-executive director, and I am delighted we have been able to attract someone of Vijay's caliber,” CEO Tillbrook said.
“As well as bringing with him a wealth of experience across a number of successful and respected companies, it was also clear from our first meeting that Vijay really valued our emphasis on culture and people. He is yet another fantastic addition to the business, and I look forward to working closely together in the future.”
In March, Alpha FX published its annual financial, reporting a 31 percent jump in revenue and a 27 percent surge in profits.
