Interdealer broker TP ICAP plc revealed this Friday that it is making some changes to its Board of Directors. Namely, Angela Knight CBE, who has spent almost nine years on the company’s Board, will not seek re-election.

The announcement was filed through the London Stock Exchange (LSE). Specifically, the broker said that at its next Annual General Meeting, Knight will not seek re-election as a Director of TP ICAP plc, and will consequently be stepping down from the Board.

Knight’s resignation from the Board coincides with the company revealing that Knight, who is a Non-executive Director and Senior Independent Director of TP ICAP plc, was appointed as a member of the Board of Encore Capital Group Inc.

This appointment took place on the 25th of September 2019, the statement released today said. Encore Capital Group Inc is a consumer banking company listed on NASDAQ.

Knight joined TP ICAP in 2011

Knight was first appointed to TP ICAP’s Board back in September of 2011. Currently, she is a member of the Audit, Risk, Remuneration, and Nominations, and Governance Committees.

Until the end of December 2014, Knight was the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Energy UK. According to her biography on the broker’s website, she was also the CEO of the British Bankers’ Association from 2007 to 2012.

During her career, Knight was also the CEO of the Association of Private Client Investment Managers and Stock Brokers , a position she held from 1997 until 2006. She has also been involved in politics and was the Member of Parliament for Erewash from 1992 to 1997. For the last two years she was in politics, Knight served as a Treasury Minister.

Knight has been a non-executive director for a number of companies, including Lloyds TSB plc, Scottish Widows, LogicaCMG plc, Transport for London, Port of London Authority and Brewin Dolphin Holdings plc.
