Ms. Connick will be joining ANZ having worked in the Australian Government, focusing on Australia’s National Cybersecurity Strategy. In her new role she will be reporting to ANZ’s Group Executive Technology, Gerard Florian, and will step into her new position as the Chief Information Security Advisor on March 14, 2017.
In this capacity she will be tasked with developing and executing ANZ’s information security strategy, helping oversee its evolution and growth of the technology landscape, including the lender’s digital transformation.
According to Mr. Florian in a recent statement on the appointment: “Lynwen is one of Australia’s foremost cyber security experts with significant experience at the frontline of protecting the nation’s information infrastructure. As we transform into a digital bank, customers rightly expect that we will keep both their money and their data safe.”
Senior Promotion
By extension, ANZ also elevated one of its own, promoting Mark Rider to the role of Chief Investment Officer for Wealth Australia, a move that is slated to take effect on March 10, 2017.
Mr. Rider originally joined ANZ back in 2013, having since served as its Head of Investment Strategy and Asset Allocation. Over this period, he was responsible for the management of ANZ’s Multi-Asset funds in the Antipodes. Prior roles include a sixteen-year stint at UBS in multiple senior asset management roles, with another decade at the Reserve Bank of Australia as an economist.
As the Chief Investment Officer at ANZ, Mr. Rider will help foster the group’s investment strategy, including asset allocation, investment themes, product selection and monitoring. His promotion follows on the heels of the earlier departure of Stewart Brentnall, who will be leaving ANZ to take up another senior opportunity in the Australian industry.
