ANZ announced that it has secured Tim Hogarth as its new Chief Technology Officer, effective from February 2022.
In an official press release shared with Finance Magnates, Tim Hogarth, a senior executive / Architect with almost thirty years of experience in financial services, has been promoted by ANZ, the Australian and New Zealand Bank, as its new Chief Technology Officer.
As part of the new role as CTO, Hogarth will look at ANZ’s longer-term technology requirements to make sure decisions and investments meet those needs in the future, as well as today. He will report directly to ANZ Group Executive Technology, Gerard Florian
Hogarth’s Vocational Record
Prior to this announcement, Hogarth served ANZ as its Chief Architect. Over the last eighteen months, he led ANZ's Centre of Excellence for architecture and engineering, focusing on application standards and engineering standards. Before that, he fulfilled the role of Architecture COE Lead for just over a year, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Earlier on at TD, he began as Vice President APIs, Application Architecture, Platforms and ChannelsVice President APIs, Application Architecture, Platforms and Channels in 2014. After three years, he received a promotion to the position of Vice President of Innovation Framework & Strategies for around two years. He was accountable for setting and directing the innovation strategy for the Group, with a team of 30 and stewarding a $30MM investment fund.
At SingularityU Canada, he joined as an Advisory Board Member and stayed for just over a year.
In 2004, he joined the ranks of Commonwealth Bank as an Architect. After two years, he received a promotion to Executive Manager of Enterprise Architecture and Online Architecture. In 2011, he climbed to the position of Head of Customer Engagement Architecture / Head of Application Platforms. For three years, he was in charge of establishing and enforcing a common architecture for all customer-facing platforms encompassing all sales and servicing functions.
From 2003 to 2004, Avanade utilised him as an Architecture Specialist and was based in Sydney, Australia.
Moreover, XT3 / Ion Global (start-up) benefitted from his skills as an Architect a year earlier.
Before this time he worked as an IT Consultant, Programmer and a Technical Support Specialist for Dresdner Kleinwort Benson, Datacom and Microsoft.
A Pivotal Role
Hogarth will play a pivotal role in ensuring ANZ’s many technology projects align with its business plans. He will continue to be accountable for ANZ’s technology architecture. Further, he will drive ongoing improvements across engineering and further extend ANZ’s move towards common technology platforms.
