ASX Names Gillian Larkins as Chief Financial Officer

The Australian Securities Exchange Limited (ASX) announced on Tuesday that it has secured Gillian Larkins as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Larkins' new role will be effective from October 29, 2018.

Prior to working at Perpetual, Larkins was the CFO and a Managing Director at Westpac’s Institutional Bank, one of Australia’s “big four” banks. Here she worked for more than four years, between March 2008 until July 2012. From 2004 up until 2008, Larkins was also the CFO for Australia and New Zealand at Citi, part of the multinational financial services Citigroup.

Larkins has a number of educational qualifications under her belt. Between 1989 until 1991 she attended the University of Otago. Here she studied and later graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Economics. She then went on to achieve a DipGrad in Accounting and Finance with the same university. In 2003, Larkins graduated Macquarie University’s Graduate School of Business with an MBA.

Gillian Larkins Replaces Ramy Aziz as ASX

As CFO, Larkins will be replacing Ramy Aziz who announced his plans to retire back in June this year. Aziz has worked with the ASX Group for more than 18 years. Before joining the Australian stock exchange, he was the CFO for Austrapay Limited from 1996 until 2000.

Aziz attended the University of Technology in Sydney. At the University he achieved a Bachelor of Business, majoring in Accounting. Aziz will remain with ASX until October 28, 2018.
