ATFX, an online trading platform, announced on Tuesday that it has appointed Steven Woodcock as its Head of Risk Management for its United Kingdom operations. Woodcock brings more than 30 years of experience in the financial industry, having held numerous senior positions throughout his career.
In his new role at ATFX, Woodcock will oversee the company’s risk to ensure it is in line with the Board of Director’s appetite. He joins the firm from TeraFX, a Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) regulated broker. There he was the Head of Trading and Risk. His position included a suite of responsibilities, including managing the flow exposure for FX, bullion, indices, and energy.
At ATFX, Woodcock will head a team of five professionals. He will be working alongside Richard Craddock, the Chief Executive Officer of the firm in the United Kingdom,. Woodcock will assist Craddock with giving advice on matters of finance, compliance, and governance.
According to the statement, Craddock believes that Woodcock’s knowledge and experience in the Europe region will be crucial to tailoring the company’s service offering in Europe and hence expand the company’s impact in the region.
Woodcock’s Career Highlights
Woodcock kick-started his career in 1988 at Credit Lyonnais Rouse, where he was a Forex dealer until April 2004. At Rouse, a large commodity house, Woodcock quickly became the largest forex profit maker over a sustained period of time. He ended his 16-year-long tenure to join Swiss Finance Corporation Limited, where he worked as a forex dealer for more than five years.
During his career, Woodcock has also been the Head of Trading and Risk at Tradenext in the UK, Senior FX Analyst at PlutusFX, and Senior FX Dealer at Broadgate Mercury. Woodcock is also a regular contributor to CoreTV. He has also made appearances on IGTV with market commentary and views.
