Australian-owned Forex and contracts-for-difference (CFDs) brokerage AxiTrader has made a new senior hire to its London team. The group secured the services of longtime veteran of the financial services industry, Paul Kiff, who joins AxiTrader as its newest Global Head of Trading following a career spanning over three decades in the industry.
The London Summit is coming, get involved!
Mr. Kiff is AxiTrader’s latest hire and part of an ongoing bid to strengthen its global market penetration as well as UK operations. This effort has coincided with AxiTrader launching multiple initiatives across key regions globally, as well as an expansion of its product portfolio. Approximately a year ago, the group tapped Rajesh Yohannan as CEO, who has since steered the company.
Mr. Kiff will be based in AxiTrader’s London office – his mandate will be to oversee and lead AxiTrader’s global Trading Desk operations. Mr. Kiff will be relied upon for his leadership and diverse understanding of the industry, given a lengthy tenure in this space. This was a key reason for his hire as AxiTrader opted for an experienced and steady hand to foster its scope and penetration into existing and emerging markets.
Mr. Kiff joins AxiTrader from GKFX, where he worked for over three years as its Head of Global Trading. This saw him construct and develop a comprehensive trading and Risk Management department, a task similar to the one which he has been given at AxiTrader. Prior to this role, he held a position at Alpari UK as its Global Head of Trading for nearly five years, steering its global markets risk desk.
Additional stops include at Man Financial as a Head Derivatives Trader on LIFFE, with similar roles at Dean Witter and Merill Lynch. He originally began his career back in 1985 at E. D. & F. Man as a Junior Trader, according to information made public on his Linkedin profile.
Mr. Yohannan commented on the hire: “There are a lot of critical aspects of running a modern broker, from the technology requirements to the service clients get, but trading and risk management is very much still at the heart of what we do. That’s why having Paul join us to lead our trading team is such great news for the company.
He has a deep understanding of the industry which will naturally benefit our day to day operations, but his knowledge and mentorship will also help our younger traders develop their understanding of the industry and ensure AxiTrader becomes an even stronger business,” he added.
