Barclays has announced Barry Rodrigues as the new Chief Executive Officer of its child company Barclaycard, starting this November.
Mr. Rodrigues will be based in New York, and will be joining the Barclays International Executive Committee. He will be reporting to Tim Throsby, the President of Barclays International and CEO of Corporate and Investment Bank.
Barclaycard is an international payment business, serving a wide variety of clients ranging from small enterprises to large corporations.
Before joining Barclaycard, Mr. Rodrigues held the role of Head of Digital Payments at Citi for six years. Prior to that position, he worked for over 25 years at American Express, where he eventually became President of Global Network Services. Earlier, he was a general manager at American Express Bank in the UK.

Recently, Barclays appointed former Credit Suisse Banker Stephen Dainton as its new Head of Equities.
