BCS Global Markets (BCS), an international arm of BCS Financial Group, has appointed Adam Wood as their newest Director of its Prime Brokerage Sales team in the UK, according to a BCS statement.

In his new role as Director at BCS Global Markets, Mr. Wood will focus on working with high frequency traders and proprietary trading firms with a penchant for arbitrage and hedge funds across the UK, Europe, and the US.

Furthermore, he will be based in London where he will be reporting to Max Hayden, Head of BCS Prime Brokerage in London. Mr. Wood joins BCS from ABN AMRO Clearing Bank, having served as a relationship manager and business development specialist – additional stops include the London Stock Exchange (LSE).

According to Audrey Faveeuw, Director of International Prime Brokerage Sales at BCS, “Adam’s interpersonal skills and deep knowledge of the industry will be a great addition to the team. His ability to adapt and learn fast will be a true asset to expand our offering and reach a broader community. We expect that, Adam’s experience and strong client relationships will be vital assets as BCS Prime Brokerage Ltd grows rapidly over the coming months and years.”

“BCS is widely recognized as being the market leading broker in the Russian market, so I am delighted they selected me to play a part in their ongoing success and international expansion,” added Mr. Wood in an accompanying statement.

Earlier this year, BCS Financial Group added Vyacheslav Smolyaninov as its Chief Strategist and Deputy Head of Equity Research. Mr. Smolyaninov landed at BCS after working at URALSIB Capital, Generali PPF Asset Management, and Merrill Lynch & Co Inc.
