BGC Partners is a wholesale broker through which banks and other firms trade bonds, derivatives, currencies, and other instruments. BGC’s platform competes with platforms owned by ICAP Plc., Tradeweb Markets LLC and Bloomberg LP, the parent company of Bloomberg News.
BGC has been busy in enhancing its brokerage offering this year, most recently in August acquiring Canadian electronic trading platforms operator Perimeter Markets.
Before that role, Jerrom has just parted ways with R.J. O’Brien & Associates where he assumed a similar role for only two months. The foreign Exchange veteran joined the commodities broker in London earlier in May, as Finance Magnates reported.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Jerrom served for two years as FX desk head at Sigma Broking LTD where he was tasked with FX CME to OTC Market Makers for both buy and sell side. Before this job, he spent five years at UniCredit Markets & Investment Banking, based in London, as Global Head FX Derivatives managing G10 and CEEMA teams in London, New York, Hong Kong, Munich and Vienna.
Back in 2007, Mr. Jerrom joined Lehman Brothers as Head FX Exotics and stayed at the U.S. banking giant until its dramatic bankruptcy in 2008, which caused shockwaves across the global financial markets. Previously, he was a Senior Trader and held product development roles at Barclays Capital. He started his career at Citibank, where he was a trader in London, New York and Singapore.
