BGC Partners, Inc. (NASDAQ: BGCP), a global brokerage company specializing in financial and real estate markets, has promoted Liam Hudson to Manager Director and Global Head of Electonic FX of its FENICS Market Data.
Liam continues to be based out of the company’s London office to lead the broker’s e-commerce division, comprising technology and e-trading products and services. He has nearly 17 years of experience in the financial industry and originally joined the American global financial services company back in August. He came from Bank of America, where he was Managing Director and Global Head of FX eCommerce for almost eight years.

Prior to joining BoA, Liam was Director of FX Algorithmic Execution at Barclays Capital for one and a half years. Hudson joined Barclays from Lehman, where he spent seven years in the e-FX business, including helping develop the FXLive platform as well as the firm’s algo execution capabilities.
BGC’s FENICS solutions support all aspects of foreign exchange (FX) option activity from pricing, automated price distribution, trading, Risk Management , and post-trade processing (STP, trade reporting, etc.).
According to his LinkedIn profile, Hudson began his career in 2001 working at Lehman Brothers, an FXLIVE Foreign Exchange Trading Platform . Hudson worked for the firm up until 2008 when the company went bankrupt. Before this, it was a primary dealer in the U.S. Treasury securities market.
Between 1990 until 1996 Hudson attended the Imperial College London, the only university in the United Kingdom to exclusively focus on science, medicine, engineering, and business. In 1993 he graduated the university with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) majoring in Physics with Honours. He then went on to study his Ph.D. in Physics, which he achieved in 1996.
