In an effort to expand its innovative and technology-driven products, Binance, one of the world’s largest crypto trading platforms, recently announced the appointment of Rohit Wad, the former Corporate Vice President at Microsoft, as the company’s new Chief Technology Officer.

In his new role, Wad will work on the expansion of the company’s products and services. In addition, the newly appointed CTO is planning to facilitate the development of scalable, secure and fast Web3 solutions. Wad highlighted the importance of security and compliance in the growing Web3 economy.

“I am incredibly excited to move from one revolution to another. Like social collaboration, every single person has had the need to pay someone, record some transaction, prove ownership of a digital or physical asset, or send money to their family. So far, these activities have endured arcane and inefficient constraints. While we are still in the early days, there are already technologies that could dramatically simplify these inefficiencies. Web3 is exciting and I am super excited to join Binance to lead the global tech team,” Wad said.

Wad has a strong presence in the global technology sector. In his extensive career of nearly three decades, Wad worked with prominent names like Microsoft, Google and Facebook.

Mayur Kamat

In addition to the appointment of Rohit Wad, Binance announced the selection of Mayur Kamat, the former Product Manager at Google, as its new Head of Product. In his broad career, Kamat worked with companies like Agoda and Microsoft. In his new position at Binance, Kamat is planning to build a diverse set of products to assist users.

Commenting on his new role, Rohit Wad, Kamat said: “Excited to be working with Rohit again. Rohit started Bing at Microsoft when I was there as an intern. Then we had a chance to work together at Google briefly. At my last startup, we were pitching our product to Skype, and Rohit (who ran Skype then) was a great mentor. Super excited to work with him daily now. Web3 will never be the same.”
