Bitpanda, an Austria-based digital investment platform, announced today a new position of Chief Growth Officer (CGO) and mentioned that the company has appointed Irina Nicoleta Scarlat, former Global Head of Growth at Revolut, as its first CGO with immediate effect.

In an official announcement, Bitpanda mentioned that Scarlat will drive the company’s expansion plans. In addition, the Austrian Unicorn added that the newly appointed CGO will take over its business development and marketing teams.

Scarlat has more than 10 years of experience in the corporate world. In her latest role, she played an important role in Revolut’s international expansion. She joined Revolut in 2018 and served the financial technology company for more than 3 years.

Before joining Revolut, Scarlat worked at Uber for more than 2 years in different positions including Marketing Manager and Lead Marketing Manager.

Commenting on the latest announcement, Scarlat, said: “Europe is lagging behind the US & Asia markets when it comes to investment literacy and many people are unaware of the possibilities they have at their fingertips. I strongly believe in Bitpanda’s mission to change this by offering people instant access to financial products as well as the resources they need to properly understand them.”

“On top of all this, Bitpanda is a company with an amazing culture, balancing hypergrowth with care for their teams, and I immediately sensed this when speaking with both the founders and executive team. I am delighted to be joining this incredible company and am confident that we’ll grow Bitpanda into the number one investment platform in Europe and beyond, together,” she added.

Bitpanda’s Expansion

The European digital investment platform has seen significant growth in 2021. The company has more than 2.5 million users. Additionally, Bitpanda has a team of over 500 employees. Earlier this year, Bitpanda closed its Series B funding round. The company aims to accelerate its global expansion through the latest appointment.

“Irina has a proven track record of breaking into and rapidly scaling new markets in the Fintech industry. At Bitpanda, we have ambitious growth plans, and as we continue in our hypergrowth journey, we are confident that with Irina leading our country management and expansion efforts, as well as our Business Development and Marketing teams, we will not only diversify into new markets but will also accelerate the growth of our current operations,” Eric Demuth, CEO of Bitpanda, said.
