BNP Paribas Adds Head of Global Multi-Strategy, Fixed Income

The Asset Management division of BNP Paribas announced this Thursday that it has added Olivier de Larouzière to its team, appointing him as the Head of Global Multi-Strategy Products (‘GMS’) within Global Fixed Income.

Olivier will commence his new position, which is a newly-created role, with BNP Paribas on January 7, 2019. Based in Paris, he will report to Dominick DeAlto, the CIO of Fixed Income for the firm.

The appointment sees him returning to BNP Paribas, as Olivier actually begun his career with the French international banking group back in January 1997. At this time, he was a Fixed Income Proprietary Trader up until 2000.

He rejoins BNP Paribas from Ostrum Asset Management, which was formerly known as Natixis Investment Managers. At the firm, he will be responsible for managing all multi-sector portfolios and portfolio management teams. He will also oversee the development and later implementation of the GMS investment process, among other duties.

Commenting on the appointment, Dominick DeAlto, said: “Olivier de Larouzière has wide-ranging experience across the fixed income spectrum that will be key as we develop our global multi sector investment capabilities and expand our product range. I am pleased to welcome him to BNP Paribas Asset Management and I look forward to working closely with him.”

Olivier worked at Ostrum for just under 16 years, originally joining the firm in January 2003. Most recently he was the Co-Chief Investment Officer of Fixed Income. Previously, he was the Head of Rates & Aggregate. Prior to working at Ostrum, from 2000 until the end of 2002, Olivier was the Fixed Income Fund Manager at Credit Lyonnais Asset Management, otherwise known as CLAM.

Before he began his career in Fixed Income, in 1989, he started his studies at the ENSAE-Paris IX Dauphine University, graduating in 1992 with a Masters in Applied Mathematics.
