BNPP AM Names Philippe Boulenguiez as Chief Operating Officer

BNP Paribas Asset Management (BNPP AM) announced this Thursday that it has appointed Philippe Boulenguiez as its Global Chief Operating Officer (COO), after working for the asset management division of the French bank for 15 years.

As the Global COO, Boulenguiez will be based in Paris and will report to BNPP AM's Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Frédéric Janbon. In addition to being the COO, he also joins BNP Paribas Asset Management's Executive Committee.

In his new role, Boulenguiez will be in charge of leading the division's IT, global operations, global procurement, and business Compliance , the company announced today. Furthermore, he will lead BNPP AM's legal teams.

Boulenguiez has been with BNP Paribas Asset Management for 15 years, having joined in 2005. Previously, he was the Global Head of BNP Paribas Dealing Services. In this position, he was responsible for BNPP AM's Global Trading Function.

According to the French bank, this includes looking after trading activities across a number of regions - Europe, the United States, and Asia. Boulenguiez also managed Sell-Side relationships, and Treasury and Exposure Management. During his time with the French company, he was also the COO of institutional business, Head of Strategic Marketing, and Head of Investment Specialists.

Commenting on the appointment, Frédéric Janbon, Chief Executive Officer of BNPP AM, said in the statement: "Philippe has more than 20 years of well diversified experience in asset management."

"This experience, combined with his managerial expertise, makes him ideally suited to this role, and his contribution will be essential to the implementation of our development plan. I am very pleased to welcome Philippe in his new role and wish him every success."

Boulenguiez started off his career at Arthur Andersen, which he left to join McKinsey as a consultant, where he specialized in management companies and financial institutions. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and graduated from HEC Paris (Hautes Etudes Commerciales).
