The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC), one of the thirteen provincial financial regulators in Canada, has selected Jeff Kehoe for the position of Enforcement Director, effective October 11, 2016.

As the head of Canada’s largest securities enforcement program, Mr. Kehoe will be assuming a new leadership role in overseeing the financial and administrative affairs and directing the activities of the staff to effectively enforce the Securities Act.
Jeff brings broad industry expertise and a robust track record of overseeing the Canadian capital markets as Director and Vice President of Enforcement at the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC). Prior to IIROC, he worked as a Crown Attorney and Department of Justice Crown Counsel.
He holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Windsor, a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Detroit Mercy and a Master of Laws degree specializing in securities law from Osgoode Hall Law School. In addition, Jeff has a Certified Regulatory and Compliance Professional certificate from Wharton University of Pennsylvania and previously received training about the securities regulations from Harvard.
Speaking on his appointment, Mr. Kehoe said: “I look forward to working with the deep bench of enforcement talent at the OSC. It is exciting to be joining a regulator that has implemented first-in-Canada enforcement tools and is constantly looking at ways to strengthen its enforcement presence.”

In its capacity as one of Canada’s provincial regulators, OSC seeks to protect investors while promoting fair and efficient capital markets throughout the province. The regulator website provides information, tools and resources for investors, including investor warnings about individuals and companies that appear to be engaging in unauthorized activities.
