David Jones, who holds the position of Chief Market Strategist at the retail brokerage, Capital.com, has resigned from his post and will part with the company on Friday, according to a Linkedin update.
“After more than four years, this week is my last one at Capital.com,” he wrote in a Linkedin post.
He joined the broker in May 2018 and is based in London. Now, he is taking a break and hinted to be working on a personal industry-related project.
“It has been something of a roller coaster since 2018, with seldom a dull moment, but I decided a few months ago it was time for some new challenges,” he added.
“I’m looking forward to a break – and then doing some projects on my own around client education, amongst other things. If you think there could be an opportunity for us to work together, then do get in touch.”

Jones is an experienced professional with more than 26 years of experience. Over his long career, he worked in diverse areas, including radio, magazines and sales. But, his most notable tenure was with top London brokers.
He entered the trading industry first as the Chief Market Analyst for CMC markets and later moved to IG as the Chief Market Strategist. Both his roles involved enhancing client education and providing market commentaries, among other things.

Capital.com, a brand owned by Belarusian billionaire entrepreneur Viktor Prokopenya seen a few exits and appointments over recent months. In July, Simon Henry left the company to join Exinity as Compliance Director.
On top of that, the broker group onboarded the former CEO of IG, Peter Hetherington as the Group CEO following the exit of Jon Squires, who has now joined Skilling. Furthermore, it appointed Angela Shi as APAC CFO and Christopher Brankin as Singapore CEO.
