Citadelת Ken Griffin’s hedge fund, has secured the services of veteran trader Nicola White, who joins the group from Morgan Stanley as the newest member of its market making business, Finance Magnates has learned.

Citadel has been making a plethora of moves in the new year, which like many other venues in the industry has seen a rapid change of personnel. Back in January, Citadel embarked on a management reshuffling, jettisoning Jon Venetos and replacing him with Todd Barker, snapping a nine year tenure. Moreover, Citadel also parted ways with Rich Mazzella, the group’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Fixed Income back in February.

Citadel’s sizable losses in 2016 by and large prompted the move, following a 14% return to its investors in 2015.

The addition of Nicola White however helps snap this narrative, as she has served as one of Morgan Stanley’s most talented traders – she most recently served as the bank’s Managing Director and Global Head of Rates Electronic Markets, where she oversaw electronic trading and risk within rates, while also driving how electronic trades were priced, executed, and ultimately controlled.

She originally joined Morgan Stanley back in 2002, having risen from the ranks of Intern, as well as an eventual Chief Operating Officer role, and other positions in the lender’s Rates eMarkets, among others before her aforementioned stint as a Managing Director and Global Head of Rates Electronic Markets.

Finance Magnates reached out to Citadel who confirmed the move and declined to offer additional comment.
